The impressive entries for the Year 7 Castle Competition, organised by the History Department, have been on display on the Podium Level since last week and have drawn lots of admiration from staff and students.
Throughout the term students have been studying the development of castle design through the Medieval Period, from William the Conqueror’s wooden Motte and Bailey to replicas of more modern Stone Keep or concentric constructions. The creativity shown by our students is there for all to see. After a very difficult judging exercise, the winners were: 1st Sharnaide Martin, 7RY 2nd Angel Dudley, 7GY 3rd Eva Doherty and Claudia Flynn, 7BX
