We would like to commend the following students for their excellent achievements in their respective age categories in the recent Short Story competition organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services:
Farrah Bruzon – Year 7 (Winner) Jathan Duarte – Year 7 (Runner-Up) Megan Edmunds – Year 9 (Highly Commended) Anna Federico – Year 7 (Highly Commended) Christopher McKay – Year 11 (Highly Commended) Adam Sacristan – Year 11 (Winner) Prizes were presented to them by the Professor John Cortes at a ceremony held last Wednesday at the John Mackintosh Hall. Congratulations to them for flying the Bayside flag! The Nautilus Project presented their annual World Ocean's Day school competition prizes last week. This is the 5th year that they have held this competition which asked school pupils to research local marine wildlife via their app NEMO (https://thenautilusproject.co/nemo/)
Bayside had some great successes among the secondary school winners. These were: Individual Winners 1st Place Jake Piri – Bayside School (Chronicle 2050 Extract – Our World Is Plastic Free) 2nd Place Ksawery Urbanik – Bayside School (Leatherback Turtle) Highly Commended Miley Piri – Bayside School ( Nautilus Poem) Congratulations to Julian Felice on winning the Best Actor award at this year’s Drama Festival.
The Bayside and Westside Drama Group won the award for Best Play for their production of “Fade To Light”. Julian and his group of actors had a most successful evening, also winning further awards for Best Original Play, Best Supporting Actress, Best technical Production and Best Youth Supporting Actress. A special mention also to Gino Ochello (Year 8) who won the Best Youth Actor award in a play produced by GAMPA. This success in Drama is indeed most deserved recognition for the endless hours of rehearsals by the Bayside and Westside Drama Group over long periods of time. The school thanks Julian Felice for investing so much time in working with these young Theatre enthusiasts, including their Saturday morning sessions. |
