A group of Bayside students have been working on a stem project, led by Ms Lucas and Mrs Sarantos-Billups, and have successfully completed their Crest Bronze Award. Accessing clean water is a problem in many parts of the world. Their task involved designing their own effective filtration system. The students dedicated a total of 15 hours during their lunchtimes to achieve their goals.

Bayside School was awarded the Cyber School of the Year 2020 in the National Cybersecurity Awards on Wednesday evening. We were shortlisted along with another three schools from the UK.
Our nomination was based on our successes in the Cybercenturion competition over the past five years, along with our efforts to close the gender gap, our work with children who are on the autistic spectrum and the rolling out of the first Gibraltar Cyber Challenge, Rock Defenders. The partnerships formed with the tech industry in the private sector has played a huge part in Bayside being recognised as one of the top schools developing cybersecurity skills. Sponsors of the event include National Police Chief's Council, (NPCC) KPMG and Amazon Web Services. Our award was sponsored by KPMG. Cultural Awards 2020 - Best Educational Project Bayside School is recognised for it's Headteacher's Portrait Exhibition, which paid tribute to the 10 head teachers in our school's history. The project also served to highlight changes in schools. Also, a number of Bayside students have been nominated for individual awards in the Junior and Youth sections. Phone lines open on Friday to cast votes. Gibraltar Sustainability Award 2020 - Technology for Sustainability Bayside School is recognised for its cybersecurity education work and specifically for closing the skills and gender gap in digital skills education locally and being at the forefront of inclusive technology education. The National Cyber Awards 2020 - Education and Learning - The Cyber School of the Year Bayside School is recognised for its continued extracurricular educational program in cybersecurity along with the strong partnerships made with experts in the field.
