Bayside School was awarded the Cyber School of the Year 2020 in the National Cybersecurity Awards on Wednesday evening. We were shortlisted along with another three schools from the UK.
Our nomination was based on our successes in the Cybercenturion competition over the past five years, along with our efforts to close the gender gap, our work with children who are on the autistic spectrum and the rolling out of the first Gibraltar Cyber Challenge, Rock Defenders. The partnerships formed with the tech industry in the private sector has played a huge part in Bayside being recognised as one of the top schools developing cybersecurity skills. Sponsors of the event include National Police Chief's Council, (NPCC) KPMG and Amazon Web Services. Our award was sponsored by KPMG. Judges including former Defence Minister Geoff Hoon, Professor Dresner of Manchester University, along with representatives from BAE, HSBC and the UN. https://thenationalcyberawards.org/2020-finalists/
