Dulcie Edwards carried out this initiative to promote dance in Bayside and especially as an encouragement for our male students who traditionally have not always engaged in dance.
The project entailed two mornings spent in rehearsal and a third morning performing in the atrium on podium level. The performances were not be a formal affair but rather in a transient style before school, at break, and during changeover times. The videos below show the rehearsals and performances. It is incredible what these students have achieved, most of them have never danced before and they managed to learn a choreography in two days and perform on the third. We hope this goes some way in promoting the perception of dance positively in school.
