· To understand the various uses and properties of fibres and fabrics.
· Enable pupils to develop their ability to actively engage in the processes of Textiles.
· Become proficient in 2D and 3D design.
· Build on the experience of working with a range of materials and Textile equipment, such as the Sewing Machine.
· Develop historical and cultural understanding of the origin of a number of textile processes.
· Promote the understanding of the wider use of textiles within today’s society and the use of both technical and smart fabrics.
· Ultimately, promote enjoyment of creative activities.
