The Rotary Junior Community Award

Nine Year 8 students received their Rotary Junior Community Award at a ceremony at the Rock Hotel on Wednesday 23 June. The awards were presented by Her Worship The Mayor, Mrs Olga Zammitt, in the presence of The Honourable Edwin Reyes MP, Minister for Culture, Heritage, Sport and Leisure.
The scheme requires the students to participate in four areas: community service, physical recreation, social experience and personal skills. Their participation is recorded in their diaries which this year reflected a wide range of activities. There can be no doubt that all the participants gained hugely from their experiences.

Bayside would like to thank Mr Geoff Morgan and Mrs Sylvia Leay of the Rotary Club of Gibraltar for the many hours they have spent in school promoting and advising on the scheme. With their continued support, we hope to be able to further develop the scheme over the coming academic year.
